I came across this article over at the wonderful wedding site The Knot:
Yesterday, Pantone announced that radiant orchid is the official colour of the year for 2014, and we’re predicting it’s going to be a hot colour for weddings too! Radiant orchid is a cross between purple and pink (which makes it perfect if you love both colours and just can’t decide). Like emerald, which was last year’s colour of the year, this saturated hue is a rich jewel tone, but that doesn’t mean it’s only for autumn and winter weddings.
If you love bright colours then pair radiant orchid with teal or go simple and combine it with white for a fresh spring or summer palette! Moth and dendrobium orchids grow naturally in this modern colour, so use them in your centrepieces and bouquet layered with other shades of purple and pink for eye-catching floral arrangements. See our style board below to find radiant orchid wedding inspiration!
